Philip Van Isacker

Philip Van Isacker (°1949) werd geboren te Mechelen en leeft en werkt in Gent. Hij studeerde rechten en kunstgeschiedenis aan de Universiteit Gent en werd reeds tijdens deze studies actief als beeldend kunstenaar. Een eerste persoonlijke tentoonstelling vond plaats in 1980 te Gent en van dan af volgden tentoonstellingen in binnen- en buitenland. Hij was van 1994 tot 2000 verbonden als docent aan de vakgroep Architectuur en Stedenbouw van de Universiteit Gent en tevens van 1993 tot 2014 aan Sint-Lucas te Gent, waar hij onder andere kunstgeschiedenis en beeldhouwkunst doceerde. Zijn werken zijn te zien in verschillende publieke verzamelingen en op diverse publieke plaatsen.

Philip Van Isacker (°1949) is born in Mechelen and lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. He studied law school and art history at the Ghent University and became a visual artist during that period. His first solo exhibition took place in Ghent in 1980, after which other shows followed, both in Belgium as abroad. From 1994 to 2000 he was associated with the architecture and urban planning department of the Ghent University and from 1993 to 2014 with Sint-Lucas Ghent, where he teached art history and sculpture. His work is included in several museum collections and can be seen in many public spaces.
