Jean-Marie Bytebier (1963) is a Belgian artist, whose work references several 20th-century painting traditions. From 1984 to 1988 Bytebier studied in Ghent at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten (KASK). He is known for works like “Broken

Ideas”, for which he received the Emile Lanui-award (1988), and has participated in exhibitions such as “Confrontatie –Confrontaties” (1989, curated by Jan Hoet), “Kunst in Zwalm” (2005) and “Tussenruimte” (2011) and “Belgische Landschappen” (2015, Museum van Elsene).
