Hilde Overbergh

Hilde Overbergh (°1964) is a walker in the world on the move, looking at what lies beneath her feet. There is the surprise that the ordinary citizen walks past and over. Once isolated in her studio, she expands this surprise of the very ordinary into a different reality. Her own, ours. A reality that we know and do not know. / Hilde lives and works in Leuven, Belgium. She received a Master’s degree in painting from Otis art institute, Los Angeles, a BFA in printmaking from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and an MFA degree from the PXL in Hasselt. She teaches in the painting department at SLAC, Leuven. Together with a group of 4 artists she runs the artist run space SECONDroom Leuven.
